Puppy/Disney Princess Birthday Party, Part 2

Sorry to all of you that got notified of this post before I ever got to write it! My fault! 🙂

Today I would like to share with you all the princess cookies and Disney princess cake that I made for Little Miss. I think these sugar cookies were the best I have even made or even eaten! As I mentioned in yesterdays post, I put buttercream frosting on the the cookie, then my homemade marshmallow fondant and then lined them with a glaze. I love the way the glaze came out. You will see on the high heel, or as Little Miss called them, “glass slipper” cookies, the glaze was very shiny. I really wanted to share the recipe with you all today, but, now I can’t find where I saved it. I promise to share it with you all once I find the recipe.

The crown, 4, and CLAIRE are all printed out of my marshmallow fondant using my Cricut Cake printer/cutter. More on this new toy on an upcoming post. In the meantime, check them out on Amazon.com. This looks like the one I have.

I don’t want to let you all go without sharing at least one recipe that I used, so I am sharing 2!  Little Miss’ cake was a chocolate chocolate chip cake. It was soooo good. You can find the recipe by visiting Christy. I am not really a fan of chocolate cake but this one has to be the best one out there! She also shares her buttercream frosting recipe. I did not use her’s though.  Thank you Christy for sharing this with the world!

The other recipe I wanted to share is the one for the sugar roll out cookies. I used the recipe from the back of a Wilton cookie cutter package. It is as follows:

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1 egg

1 1/2 teaspoon Wilton Imitation Clear Vanilla Extract

1/2 teaspoon Wilton Imitation Almond Extract

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In mixing bowl, beat butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and extracts. Mix flour, baking powder and salt; add to butter mixture 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition. Do not chill dough. Divide dough into 2 balls. On a floured surface, roll each ball into a circle. Use desired cookie cutters. Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheet 8-11 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.

I found that I had to keep adding more flour to my dough because it was too sticky.

Thank you for letting me share my kids birthday cakes and cookies with you.

Happy baking!
